Healthy Grapes

'When they came to the torrent valley of Eshcol, they then proceeded to cut down from there a shoot with one cluster of grapes. And they went carrying it on two of the men...'

- Numbers 13:23

Grapes were the first thing Noah planted after the flood. Grapes were eaten fresh, or dried into raisins in the old days, much like today. Crops of vineyards were made into juice, vinegar or wine. Sometimes grapes would also be pressed into cakes. Grapes contain a high Boron content. Boron has been identified as a vitamin or mineral which helps fight off osteoporosis. These days Boron is also sold as a dietary supplement, to help one loose weight.

A cup of grapes from the vine contain 58 calories, 0.3 grams of fat, and no cholesterol. The fat content of grapes is so small you could eat them all day and likely never get fat (unless you drank wine with them!) Grapes contain vitamins A, B, and C, not to mention calcium, potassium and zinc. Grapes help fight tooth decay.

Grapes even work against viruses - they're packed with polyphenols and tannins, which are antiviral and antitumor agents. These agents are especially effective against viruses that cause polio and herpes simplex.  The virus fighter Tannin is absorbed from the grape into the intestinal tract where it does the most good for the body.
