Oatmeal Health Benefits

Oatmeal is high in fiber and can help with many things throughout the body. Because of the high fiber content, oat fiber helps to lower the count of carcinogens in the body (cancer causing agents). Oat fiber contains natural compounds called bataglucans that help to lower LDL (bad chelesterol), and remove bile acids from the system. If you have a diet high in oat fiber it will lower the chance of heart attack, chelesterol gallstones and also reduces the risk of colon cancer.


If you are going to eat oatmeal it is best to eat the non-instant kind, and not to eat it with sugar. Instead, use a sugar substitute such as stevia extract. Oat bread, oat muffins or oat cereal are good too, as long as you are eating wholegrain oat products without sugar.
